The Queen And Her Corgi’s Get Waxed In Worcestershire

MEDIA CALL

A Worcestershire primary school is creating a giant batik portrait of the Queen and her corgis as part of Worcestershire Art’s Trail Jubilee Celebrations. Working alongside batik artists Marie-Thérèse King and Sarah Jones, children from the St Matthias School in Malvern will make a portrait that measures 70 by 39 inches.

The portrait is one of 10 specially-commissioned pieces that Worcestershire Arts Trail have created for their event which co-incides with the Jubliee celebrations from 1st to 4th June. All of the works will be on show over this free event when more than 74 artists will open their workshops and studios to the public. The batik painting will be on show in a vacant shop window in Worcester town centre, exact location is to be announced.
